2000 – 2006 Farnborough College of Technology, Farnborough, UK Web Co-ordinator, responsible for all aspects of web based delivery both for student intranet and public web site.

Used: ASP/ADO; Filemaker based DHTML; Javascript and CSS; PHP; MySQL Principally for the development of a CMS. This was first developed in ASP/ADO and later ported and further developed using the PHP/MySQL/Apache platform initially for reasons of portability and the freedom to change the base OS to Unix when appropriate. Filemaker was used to support legacy web applications

In addition to site management and development, I was responsible for teaching web technology and for liaising with staff at all levels to encourage system integration and use of the web based technology in new and innovative ways, including the use of virtual learning environments such as Moodle

ADDITIONAL

I have designed and presented a number of training courses on various pieces of
software and techniques including: Ventura Publisher; QED (a networked workgroup/personal assistant system); Using CSS; Streaming media

I regularly give informal 1 to 1 teaching in various packages including Word and Excel and web page production.

I did most of the design of the first web site which was published by the Liberal Democrats. This site included a large number of pages which were programmatically generated from raw data offline and uploaded as static HTML. The site managed information directories and press releases amongst other things.

I have written User Manuals for two commercial software clients.

I have written a number of utilities in Visual Basic, often interacting with other applications via dynamic data exchange.

I have written web applications using VBScript with ADO, and PHP with MySQL/ADODB/DBX/PDO, Including photography management, and accounting applications, as well utilities for integration with existing systems – for example between Farnborough College public web site and its student administration system in order to extract course data.
