Because the world is round
It makes me wonder why
The world in “Elements”
Is always flat
Because its Euclid’s book
I guess its true
But that just makes me wonder
If Euclid knew
Because the world is round
And Euclid knew
I wonder why he thought
Triangles stuck
At just pi rad,
Not pi and a half.
Because I got a degree
Don’t mean I’m smart
Because I’m from the west
Don’t mean I’m rich
Because I want to be kind
Why do I fail
Too often.
Because I can
Why do I do
When I know I should not.
Because don’t lead to “therefore”,
Because just leads to “why”
And so we go on searching
Evermore for “why”
‘Til religion gives us answers
And we just stop asking why.
We just stop.
Thank God, religion didn’t
Stop Euclid and the rest
Who found out all the secrets
Religion tries its best
To hide the force of logic
With layers of faulty
Dogma.
