Surrounded by MPs
Experts in the war of words
Feeling very exposed
To invite an attack I can’t rebut
Or to keep quiet
Let others occupy my ground?
I was determined to speak my mind
Come what may
But I came round.
This poem was written after being invited to appear on a panel where everyone else was a seasoned politician, and how I was cowed into submission by it – and my disgust in myself for letting that happen.
