When life is at its deepest ebb of night

When life is at its deepest ebb of night
And ‘gainst day’s odds I’m feeling whisper small
When life is at its dizzy scary height
And over all I tow’r ten metres tall
In best I find my focus is not lost
In worst I do not fear the Styx is crossed
For in my life I have a constant friend
Beside me now and to the very end
Who at his height is sparkling, joyful, fun
And in his depths confides, and trusts, in me.

I speak of you my love who, blessed be
Believes in me and is with me as one.
So hold this thought whate’er the future bring;
The bells won’t toll for us but brightly ring.
