Moving on

I want the words that sear the page
For those against whose hearts I rage.
I want the bitterness expunged
Their vicious knife in THEIR heart plunged.

But, there’s no hope in retribution
What I need is substitution
Of the hate and hurt I feel.
I need to make these feelings real –

A token that can now be cast
In hope of inner peace at last.
So now, I’ll take these luminaires
And cut them into orphaned pairs

That signify a final parting –
New roads seeking, journeys starting.
Now the work begins anew
But help me, please, find what to do.

My anger isn’t yet subsiding
It’s now, to me my friends deriding
So cast you out, you bitter notion
Of a loving heart’s emotion.

There’s no room here for likes of you
NOW’s the time to start anew.
